The UL Moot Court team participated in the American Moot Court Association South Texas Regional at Texas A&M University College of Law this weekend.  The participants included Shalanda Plowden, Kris Harrison, Katherine Read, Cameron Pontiff, Mark Mallory, Ashley Fisher, Mia Tolliver, and Blacin Douct.

All of our teams advanced to the Sweet 16 elimination rounds, meaning out of 13 schools in attendance, UL made up 1/4 of the teams in the round of 16.  Cameron Pontiff was recognized as the 12th place speaker over all and Mark Mallory was recognized as the 14th speaker over all.

Shalanda Ploweden and Kris Harrison advanced all the way to the semifinal round and have qualified to attend the National tournament at Stetson College of Law in Florida in January.  There are 400-500 students competing in regional tournaments all over the country in November and December and only the top 80 teams earn bids to nationals.
